The Suite for Violin and Piano is a four-movement work composed without any identifiable source of concrete, extra-musical inspiration. While writing it, my primary goal was to explore a variety of characters, which eventually led to the pensive introduction, a grotesque scherzo, a plaintive lament, and the agitated, propulsive finale.
